Redundancy Payments and Recoveries

If you were officially employed for more than two year and then lost your job due to circumstances such as the closure of the business or a reduction in the number of staff. You have a right to apply for Redundancy Payments and Recoveries.

Check if you under following list of requirements to get it:

1) Be aged over 16 years of age
2) Be in employment and paying PRSI contributions, which are insurable for all social welfare benefits. Currently this is only a PRSI Class A contribution
3) Have worked continuously for the employer for at least 2 years (104 weeks)
4) Have been working continuously for the employer for more than 2 years if working part-time.
